Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) – Level 3

PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) is a teaching qualification for anyone wanting to teach, trainor tutor in the lifelong learning sector (post-compulsory education). It is also ideal for people whose work involves giving instruction to others, coaching or making presentations.
This course is aimed at:
People new to teaching adults
People who teach adults and require a formal professional qualification
People who coach, give instruction or presentations
People applying for this course must be at least 19 years of age, be suitably qualified (either by formal qualifications or relevant experience) in their subject area and be able to work at level 3 Literacy and level 1 Mathematics and ICT.
Successful completion of the course will lead to the following learning outcomes:
Understand own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching
Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches
Demonstrate session planning skills
Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners
Understand the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping
